|More Information on the Cagiva Planet|
The Cagiva Planet is a motorcycle naked small displacement produced by the motorcycle manufacturer varesina Cagiva from 1997 to 2003 , presented as "Cagiva N1" in 1995 and finally launched as Planet two years later. The project was born from the pencil of Miguel Galluzzi and resumes line the Ducati Monster designed by the same author. The context [ change | change wikitext ] Cagiva Planet mounts the same chassis (ie chassis , brakes and shock absorbers front and rear) and the engine sister Cagiva Mito EV, the differences between the two bikes are in fact purely aesthetic. Has a singlecylinder engine of 125 cc 2stroke liquidcooled , shock front Marzocchi (calibrated less severe than the Myth) and brake system Brembo . The first motorcycle series was produced from 1997 to 2001 and is characterized by a twotone tank, the single headlight, a small tip that protects the expansion and side cladding of the tail with small vents. The saddle is very padded and rounded, the number plate is very pronounced, the rearview mirrors are round, the muffler has a shape reminiscent of a rugby ball; this model in 1999 adopted the new wheels with six spokes, instead of the previous three races and the channel of the wheel front went from 2.75 "to 3". The second series was produced from 2002 to 2003 and is distinguished from the first by the absence of the tip and the painted frame, unlike previous models which showed the frame in aluminum color. The bike has been on sale in Italy only in limited version according to the rules of the road to 11 kw (15 hp ); the engine without limitations is capable of delivering about 26 hp and instead to push the bike up to 165 km / h. It is out of production in 2003 and was replaced by Cagiva Raptor 125.
