More Information on the Cagiva Prima50
The First 50 was produced for a relatively short period, from 1992 to 1999 , and was a moped born without approval and preparation for passenger transportation, while the '93 get that approval. The fairing is particular, with the headlights do not flush with the body but more internal to it. The wheels are simple and three breeds, with forks overturned and the mixer is mechanical for separate lubrication. The power unit of Cagiva production, with liquid cooled by a small radiator in the front of the bike. The carburetor of the series was a 14/12 Dell'Orto with separate oil filler. It was mainly produced in two versions, a 3speed gearbox and a 6, distinguished by the name "First R evolution". The latter has completely red hulls with inserts in carbon look on the sides and under the fairing, and presents on the tail decals "Before r evolution" with "CRC" logo (cagiva racing department). The 3speed version, however, was mounting the fairings called "lucky Explorer" because of decals that reminded the Lucky Strike cigarette brand logo with which Cagiva had signed a sponsorship agreement. The width of the bike is very similar to that of Cagiva Mito 125 which, however, in the late '90s, will evolve acquiring the look of the Ducati 916 and keeping the younger sister only the tail. The hulls are made entirely of resin and attached to the frame thanks to supports with threaded grommets. A peculiarity of this moped is the space for the helmet proceeds within the "fake" tank, which, however, is still too small for most of the helmets today approved but still useful as a storage. The real and proper tank is located within the pigtail and under the saddle.During the time frame in which this model is produced they are reviewed aesthetically small details without ever having a complete review. Before 75 [ edit | edit wikitext ] This bike, produced from 1993 to 1995 is a Cagiva Prima 50 with a larger engine and equipped with a reed valve two petals instead of the singlepetal reed valve, also the cylinder to be cooled properly is provided with small lateral fins. This model can be easily recognized by the 50cc version for the speedometer limited to 140kmh instead of 120 as the smaller version. This project is also taken up by the Spanish motorcycle manufacturer Derbi that plays under the name Derbi gpr 50/75 an almost exact copy of cagiva before. The latter is practically excluded from the sale in Italy because of arrangements with cagiva. The latter model, aesthetically identical to the first, is distinguished by the different decals and different colors as well as the name Derb
