Throughout the years, the RS models have undergone several changes and improvements. In this article, we will take a look at the history of the Aprilia RS model motorcycles.

1990s

The first Aprilia RS model motorcycle was introduced in the 1990s. The Aprilia RS 125 was a popular motorcycle for younger riders due to its 125cc engine and sporty design. It was also used for racing in various championships around the world.

2000s

In the early 2000s, Aprilia introduced the RS 250, which had a two-stroke engine and was designed for racing. This motorcycle was used in the 250cc Grand Prix championship and won several championships with riders such as Marco Melandri and Jorge Lorenzo.

The RS 250 featured a twin-spar aluminum frame and a fully adjustable suspension, making it a popular choice for both racing and street riding. The RS 250 enjoyed success in the 250cc Grand Prix racing class, with riders such as Max Biaggi, Valentino Rossi, and Jorge Lorenzo all achieving victories on the bike. The RS 250 was discontinued in 2004 due to tightening emissions regulations and the popularity of four-stroke engines.

The RS 50 was powered by a liquid-cooled, single-cylinder, two-stroke engine that produced around 8 horsepower and had a top speed of approximately 50 mph.
