More Information on the KTM Duke Series
The single­cylinder Duke was from 1994 to 1999 that Duke built II 1999­2006. Both models together sold a total of 12,550 times. The successor to the Duke II , the 690 Duke (unofficial Duke III) , came in spring 2008 on the market. With the 2012 model year (Duke IV) the appearance was greatly changed in the direction of "Naked Bike" to address a broad range of buyers. On the technical side the revised engine (dual ignition, "Ride­by­wire" system) the previous Duke 690 R and an ABS was the Duke 690 (antilock braking system). In the lower capacity engines models are produced with 125 cc and 390, also with a single cylinder engine. Featuring a V­2 engine equipped Super Duke was introduced to the market of 2005. The end of 2012 showed KTM an almost production­ready concept study "The Beast", a Super Duke with 1301 cc big V­2 engine. In October 2013, the Super Duke 1290R was officially presented and sold from model year, 2014.
