More Information on the Yamaha FZ250 Phazer
The development of this 250cc sport model was based on Yamaha Motor's exclusive 4-stroke engine design concept "Genesis." A class-first DOHC 4-valve 4-cylinder engine was mounted onto a lightweight, compact body. This model created a stir with its innovative styling that unified the fairing and tank cover and its powerful performance that put it on par with the 2-stroke sport models, something virtually unthinkable in the motorcycle world of the time.
